In The Year of the Masque, John Madu explores the concept of the “mask” both literally and metaphorically—how identities are hidden, performed, or distorted. The exhibition uses mask imagery and theatrical references to engage themes of identity, globalization, and the tension between public face vs internal self. Alongside a richly illustrated catalogue with texts by Oliver Enwonwu, the work asks us to confront how we present ourselves to the world.
